Clear aligners with Bolton roots
My Cosmetic Aligners has its home in Bolton. Our aligners are made by our own orthodontic laboratory in the town and supplied to partner dental practices, who carry out your consultation and treatment. If you live in Bolton, that means you can be matched with a partner location for treatment with aligners made locally.
We cover the whole borough, including the town centre, Horwich, Westhoughton, Farnworth, Kearsley, Little Lever, Blackrod, Bromley Cross and Harwood, as well as people who travel in on the M61 or through Bolton Interchange. Tell us your nearest area and, if you like, your postcode, and we'll tell you where you've been matched before anything is booked.
What happens at a clear aligner consultation
Your consultation is with a dentist at your partner location, and it's where you find out whether aligners are right for you. Every practice runs things its own way, but you can usually expect:
- A chat about what you'd like to change and what bothers you about your smile
- A check of your teeth and gums, because they need to be healthy before any straightening starts
- Photos and a digital scan or impressions of your teeth, if treatment is being planned
- An explanation of your options, how long treatment is likely to take and the price
Some practices also take X-rays if they're needed. If anything needs treating first, such as decay or gum problems, your dentist will tell you. You won't be asked to commit on the day, and you're free to go away and think it over.
From scan to smile
If you decide to go ahead, your scan is used to plan how your teeth will move, stage by stage. Your aligners are then made from that plan and sent to your practice. You'll be shown how to put them in and take them out, how to clean them and when to change to the next set.
Your dentist reviews your progress along the way. Some people need a few extra aligners at the end, called refinements, to fine-tune the result. When treatment finishes, you'll be given retainers to help keep your teeth in their new position, and your dentist will explain how often to wear them.
